Scott Buchanan has extensive experience in marketing and leadership roles. Scott is currently working as the Chief Marketing Officer at Forter, where they focus on reducing fraud, driving profit, and enhancing customer experiences in the eCommerce industry. Prior to this, they served as an Advisor to Karat, providing guidance on messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies. Scott also worked as the Vice President of Marketing at VMware, leading the team behind VMware Tanzu and simplifying the story of Kubernetes and microservices for internal and external audiences. Before that, they were the Vice President of Marketing at Heptio, where they positioned the company as a Kubernetes thought leader and significantly grew the pipeline. Scott has also held leadership positions at Tintri, NICE Systems, Medallia, and Microsoft, where they played integral roles in brand development, IPOs, and marketing strategies. Additionally, they have experience in new product innovation and facilitation at Research International and SolutionPeople.
