Sam Douglas is an accomplished Mining & Operations Planning Manager at Fortescue, holding various roles since May 2014, including Operations Planning Manager for both Iron Bridge and Solomon projects. With extensive experience leading a technician team of over 100 individuals, Sam specializes in creating and executing mine plans that enhance orebody value at one of the largest iron ore mining sites. Previous positions include Medium Term Mine Planning Superintendent, Short Term Mine Planning Superintendent, and Senior Mining Engineer, with responsibilities encompassing production engineering and mine scheduling. Prior to Fortescue, Sam worked at Macmahon as a Graduate Mining Engineer, gaining valuable experience in different operations across Western Australia, and held a Student Engineer position at Rio Tinto. Sam holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from UNSW and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Business Futures from Curtin University.
