Karen Degroat

Karen DeGroat is a dental hygiene professional with extensive experience in both clinical practice and education. Currently serving as a Dental Hygiene Instructor at FORTIS Colleges and Institutes since September 2021, Karen previously worked as a Hygienist at Dr. Episcopio's cosmetic dental practice from October 2008 to July 2020, providing patient education on periodontal conditions and treatments. Additionally, Karen has experience as an Adjunct Instructor at SUNY Orange, facilitating student training in the hygiene clinic from September 2007 to May 2020, and has held hygienist roles at Medical Dental Power, Hudson Highlands Dentistry, and Warwick Valley Dental over a span of two decades. Karen holds a Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from SUNY Canton and an AAS in Dental Hygiene from SUNY Orange.
