Lucien Hoare

Lead Game Artist at Fortis Games

Lucien Hoare has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Lucien started their career as a 3D animator at Bits Studios in 2001 and later worked as a 3D animator at Mucky Foot Productions and Argonaut Games. In 2004, they joined WMS Gaming as a Principal Artist, where they created original content for various successful casino slot machines. Lucien also had the opportunity to work on the art for the Airplane! Slot Machine.

In 2011, Lucien joined Sarcastic Hedgehog Ltd. as a Senior Illustrator, responsible for all the art on the mobile game Hello Copter. Lucien then had a brief period of self-employment before joining Mind Candy in 2012. At Mind Candy, they initially worked as a Senior Designer for mobile games and later joined the Illustration Team, creating artwork for the Moshi Monsters web game. Lucien also worked in Creative Services where they created artwork for games, posters, merchandise, and product packaging.

In 2015, Lucien joined Gumbug as a Senior Illustrator, contributing their skills to the creation of characters, environments, props, logos, and UI for three F2P mobile games. Lucien continued at Gumbug until 2019, when they joined Voodoo.io as a Senior Game Artist. At Voodoo.io, they played a crucial role in their expansion into the Casual games space, creating fast prototype art, final artwork, environment concepts, character designs, UI, and textures for Unity-based games.

Most recently, in 2021, Lucien Hoare joined Fortis Games as a Lead Artist.

Lucien Hoare attended Woolverstone Hall School from 1983 to 1985 and then Catford School from 1985 to 1989. Later, from 1996 to 1998, they attended Arts University Bournemouth, where they pursued a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animation.
