Sara Sandberg has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their current role as Director Environment, Hydro Generation at Fortum, a position they have held since June 2023. Prior to this, they were Head of Environment, Hydro at Fortum from May 2020 to June 2023. Before joining Fortum, Sara worked at Energiforsk AB as Områdesansvarig vattenkraft from January 2017 to June 2018 and as Programansvarig from January 2015 to December 2016. Sara also gained valuable experience as a Program Manager at Elforsk AB from May 2006 to December 2014, where they managed R&D programs on environmental impacts, economy, and technical issues related to hydropower. Sara also completed their Master Thesis at Vattenfall AB International from September 2000 to March 2001.
Sara Sandberg completed their MSc in industrial engineering at Linköping University from 1996 to 2001. Sara also obtained additional certifications in "MKB enligt nya kapitel 6 i miljöbalken – så genomför du en tillståndsprövning" from Aktuell Hållbarhet Utbildning in 2019 and "Den nya vattenrätten" from Karnov Group Sverige in 2018.
