Viljami Aarbakke

Viljami Aarbakke has a diverse work experience spanning various legal and competition-related roles. Viljami currently serves as the Director of Legal, Procurement & Competition Law at Fortum since August 2023. Prior to this, they held positions at Fortum as a Legal Counsel, Corporate Commercial & Trading | Competition Law Lead from March 2022 to August 2023, and as a Legal Counsel, City Solutions | Competition Law Lead from August 2019 to February 2022.

Before joining Fortum, Viljami worked as a Telecom & Competition Legal Counsel at Liikenne- ja viestintävirasto Traficom / Transport- och kommunikationsverket Traficom for a brief period from April 2019 to August 2019. Viljami also gained practical experience as a Trainee District Judge at the District Court of Helsinki from April 2018 to March 2019.

During their time at Castrén & Snellman, Viljami held multiple positions including Competition & Dispute Resolution Associate from June 2016 to March 2019, Senior, Thesis, and Associate Trainee from September 2015 to June 2016, and Knowledge Management Trainee from September 2014 to August 2015.

Viljami's earlier experiences include being an Intern at the Department of International Affairs at Keskusrikospoliisi - National Bureau of Investigation from May 2014 to July 2014, and a Legal Trainee at Asianajotoimisto Maritta Heiskanen from September 2011 to May 2014. Viljami also served as a Youth Delegate at the Finnish Red Cross - Suomen Punainen Risti from September 2010 to December 2010.

Viljami Aarbakke obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Law from the University of Helsinki from 2011 to 2016. Viljami also attended York University - Osgoode Hall Law School as an exchange student from September 2013 to December 2013.
