Brett Yates started their work experience as a Director at Janus Capital Group in 1992, where they built and managed a call center. Brett then worked as a Vice President at Fiserv Lending Solutions from 2002 to 2008, and later as a Vice President at First Advantage Credco from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2012, they served as the Director of International Marketing at j2 Global Communications, focusing on marketing fax and voice services internationally. In 2012, they joined Pango Group as the Chief Operating Officer until 2014. Following that, Yates served as the Chief Operating Officer at Taurus Processing, a financial services company, from 2014 to 2019. From 2018, they took on multiple roles including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Michelson Philanthropies. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Executive Officer at Michelson Found Animals Foundation, Inc. These roles involved strategic planning, operations management, marketing, finance, and other responsibilities.

Brett Yates attended the University of Denver from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a BS/BA degree in Finance/Real Estate. Brett studied at the University of Denver-Daniels College of Business, which is a part of the University of Denver.
