Director Facilities Systems And Services at FOUNDATION FOR CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGES

Walt Kerns has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Walt started their career at Hewlett-Packard as a Program and Project Manager, where they worked for almost 20 years. In 2002, they founded their own business called Tactical Leadership Services, where they provided project management consulting and training services to small and medium businesses.

From 2004 to 2005, Walt was a Program Manager at the Reverse Logistics Association, where they established a new marketing segment and developed a web-driven seminar and workshop program for aftermarket products.

In 2005, Walt joined Synergy Companies as the Director of Business Development and Customer Service for the Northern California region. Walt partnered with the General Manager to implement new business processes and technologies, and supervised a team of 20 service representatives.

Walt then moved on to Psomas Engineering Corporation in 2007, where they worked as a Project Manager. Walt'sresponsibilities included managing the IT Driven Environmental Noise Abatement project for the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Walt successfully delivered the project within budget and on time, managed compliance and reporting sessions, and led a critical system migration.

In 2010, Walt returned to Synergy Companies as the Sears Services Business Development Manager. Walt held this role until 2013, when they joined the Foundation for California Community Colleges as the Director of Facilities Systems and Services. In this position, they directed the team responsible for the California Community College web-based facilities system and field assessment team, ensuring the delivery of software system support and maintenance, as well as leading the development of the next generation system.

Walt Kerns completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace Science from Central Washington University in the years 1976 to 1978.
