Mary Gearing

Mary Gearing is an experienced professional in medical communications and translational oncology, currently serving as Associate Director at Foundation Medicine since May 2018. Gearing has a substantial background in medical affairs and clinical reporting, previously occupying roles from Scientist I to Senior Scientist at the same organization. Prior to this, Gearing worked at Addgene where multiple website and blog projects were managed while ensuring plasmid quality control, and contributed to science communications as an intern. Additional experience includes being a Community Editor for the Public Library of Science, conducting research on lipid metabolism at Boston Children's Hospital, and serving as an adjunct lab instructor at Emmanuel College. Gearing holds a Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Davidson College.
