Jay Fulgencio has held various roles in education, youth development, and media since 2012. In 2012, they were the Founding Executive Director of Latin Dimensions Media, LLC / Oye Help Me Series, where they created educational workshops, produced and directed 20 YouTube videos, and generated $2,000 in prize money. In 2014, they were the Job Club Coordinator for the Carrera Program at Union Public Schools, where they managed Junior Achievement personal finance curriculum, coordinated job training summer camp, and monitored and tracked over 220 student personal savings accounts. From 2015 to 2019, they worked as a Learning and Development Specialist at LDMS Media, designing self-paced learning experiences, generating over $29,000 in net income from services, sales, and speaking engagements, and developing effective online courses. In 2020, they were the Interim Program Coordinator for the McNair Scholars Program at Roosevelt University, where they managed student portfolios, organized and coordinated day-to-day services, and coordinated and implemented virtual McNair Scholars symposium. Currently, they are the Senior Program Success Coordinator at Founders First Capital Partners, where they support the program instructors, coaches, and participants by coordinating accelerator programs, coordinates the application, registration, and on-boarding materials for program participants, and assists with developing and maintaining strong relationships with current and new stakeholder groups and partnership opportunities.

Jay Fulgencio has an extensive education history. In 2006, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University. Jay then went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Political Science and Government from Oklahoma State University, which they completed in 2012. Jay then obtained a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from Oklahoma State University in 2013. In 2015, they began a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education - Educational Technology, which they completed in 2018. In addition, they have obtained a number of certifications, including a Junior Summer Institute (JSI) from the Public Policy & International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship Program at Princeton University in 2009, a Certified Grant Writer from Fort Hays State University in 2012, an Improving Your Online Course certification from QM Quality Matters in 2015, a Certified Practitioner of the Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile from Eckerd College in 2019, a Master Online Leader and Administrator (MOLA) Certificate from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2021, and a number of certifications from Formstack, VC University, Innovator Mindset, and LinkedIn.
