Michael Ukoha has a diverse work experience in the field of physical therapy. Michael started their career as a Rehabilitation Technician at Physiotherapy Associates in 2013. Michael then had a role as a Physical Therapist Aide at HCR ManorCare in the same year, where they gained observation hours and interacted with both acute and long-term patients.

In 2014, Michael became a student of Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), and completed their degree in 2017. During their time as a student, they also gained practical experience through full-time clinical internships at Physio and Genesis, where they treated and managed primarily geriatric patients and educated healthcare staff and patients on fall prevention.

In 2016, Michael had a part-time clinical internship as a Student Physical Therapist at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network and HCR ManorCare.

After completing their education, Michael joined the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center as a Student Physical Therapist for a full-time clinical internship from January to March 2017.

Since November 2017, Michael has been working at FOX Rehabilitation, initially as a Senior Physical Therapist and now as a Senior Living Community (SLC) Lead.

Michael Ukoha began their education at Mount Saint Joseph High School, where they completed their secondary education from 2006 to 2010. Michael then attended Towson University from 2010 to 2014, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, General. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at the University of Maryland Baltimore from 2014 to 2017, where they obtained a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, specializing in Physical Therapy/Therapist.

In addition to their academic credentials, Michael Ukoha has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2012, they obtained their AED & CPR Certification from the American Red Cross. In 2014, they completed HIPPA 125 training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Continuing their professional development, Michael obtained the Otago Exercise Program: Falls Prevention Training certification from the Carolina Geriatric Education Center (CGEC) in 2015. Additionally, they completed Title IX Compliance Training at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Accountability and Compliance in 2015. In 2016, they obtained the ASIA International Standards Training E Program certification from the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA). Most recently, in 2021, they completed the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) BIG certification from LSVT Global, Inc.
