Alana Prashad

Provincial Leader, Ontario at FPInnovations

Alana Prashad is the current Provincial Leader for Ontario at FPInnovations. Alana has dedicated their career to working with businesses to help them grow sustainably with a focus on innovation. Prior to their current role, they served as an Officer of the Board for The Conservation Council of Ontario from April 2014 to October 2016. From December 2004 to August 2021, they worked as a Senior Advisor for Energy and Environment Lead in the Americas for Innovation Norway. In this role, they were responsible for working with entrepreneurs, startups, large international companies, and organizations to enhance commercial growth while also focusing on sustainability. Alana is also a subject matter expert for the US Green Building Certification Institute test development in the Project Systems and Energy Impacts Category. From January 2003 to December 2004, they worked in promotions for CHUM Radio. And before that, they served as Communications Manager for Headline Media Group Inc from January 2001 to December 2003. Alana began their career in 1997 as Master Control and Technical Director for Headline Media/The Score where they worked until 2001.

Alana Prashad has a certificate in Energy, Sustainability and Lifecycle Analysis from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Alana also has an Executive Education in Global Entrepreneurship from the Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. Alana has two masters degrees, one in Energy Management from BI Norwegian Business School and another in Energy Management from ESCP Business School. Alana also has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University. Lastly, they are certified by the Green Building Certification Institute in LEED Green Associate.

They are on a team with Francine Guinois - VP, Human Resources, Glen Légère - Senior Director, Fibre Supply, and Terry Knee - Corporate Secretary, Governance & Compliance. Alana Prashad reports to Stéphane Renou, President & CEO.
