Lexi Brown

Associate Director & Artist Liaison at Fraenkel Gallery

Lexi Brown has a diverse range of work experience. Lexi started their career as a Photography Intern at the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program in 2011. Lexi then worked as a Cataloging and Book Repair assistant at the Rochester Institute of Technology Library from 2012 to 2012. At the same institution, they also held positions as a Laboratory Technician, Equipment Cage Technician, and Teaching Assistant from 2012 to 2014. In 2013, they interned at The Museum of Modern Art as an Imaging Services Intern.

In 2013, Lexi joined Susan Meiselas Studio as a Studio Intern for a brief period before transitioning to a role as a Digital Imaging Technician at Grossman Enterprises in 2015, where they worked part-time. Lexi then joined Joel Sternfeld Studio as a Studio Manager from 2014 to 2015. From 2013 to 2016, Lexi returned to Susan Meiselas Studio, this time as a Digitial Imaging Technician, where they collaborated on various projects and supervised studio operations.

In 2016, Lexi began working at Fraenkel Gallery as a Registrar, overseeing artwork intake and outtake, organizing shipping, and conducting artwork condition assessments. In 2019, they transitioned to the role of Artist Liaison, producing exhibitions, managing loans, and hosting gallery tours. Currently, Lexi holds the position of Associate Director & Artist Liaison at Fraenkel Gallery. In this role, they collaborate with leadership on curatorial endeavors, builds partnerships, and serves as the primary point of contact for artists and partner galleries.

Lexi Brown's education history began in 2010 when they enrolled at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Lexi pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Professional Photographic Illustration and completed their studies in 2014. Following that, they decided to further their education and attended San Francisco State University from 2020 to 2023. At this institution, Lexi pursued a Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies.
