Magdy Shehata

Magdy Shehata has a long and varied work experience. Magdy started as a freelancer web designer for eXonic.net in 2004. In 2011, they took on the role of Head of IT & Design Unit for Step Up Youth Initiative. In 2012, they founded and became the CEO of Abo El Waffle. From 2009 to 2016, they held various roles at overpink, including Project Manager and Partner and Senior Web Developer. Magdy also held various roles at Fragbite Group and FunRock from 2016 to 2022, including Co-Founder & VP of Mobile Gaming and Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer. In 2015, they were the Marketing Manager for the Middle East and North Africa at Truecaller. In 2022, they founded and became the CEO of Söderhub.

Magdy Shehata began their educational journey in 2005 when they attended Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and obtained their High School degree in I.G.C.S.E. in 2008. In the same year, they also enrolled in Pharos University in Alexandria where they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering in 2013. In 2014, they enrolled in KTH Royal Institute of Technology and obtained their Master's Degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in 2015. During their time at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, they also completed two summer trainings in Computer Engineering in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Magdy Shehata is currently pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2023. In 2016, they obtained an IELTS score of 8.0 from the British Council.
