Lori Hixson is an experienced horticulturist with a diverse background in botany and environmental science. Currently serving as a Botanical Gardens Horticulturist at Franklin Park Conservatory since March 2013, Lori has previously worked as a Certified Horticulturist at Silverbrook Nursery & Landscaping, where marketing strategies were implemented to enhance customer engagement. Lori has also managed a plant shop at Green Spring Gardens Park, establishing community-focused gardens and demonstrating extensive knowledge in plant identification and cultivation. Additionally, Lori has a background in animal training and outreach from a tenure at Columbus Zoo, where more than 1,200 educational programs were presented. Lori's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Environmental Science from Taylor University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, supplemented by specialized training in landscape design and entrepreneurship.
