Herbert Oakes

Herbert Oakes is an experienced technology operations leader currently serving as Director of Technology Infrastructure Operations at Franklin Templeton since February 2024, overseeing a large team responsible for reliable IT systems across global cloud providers and traditional data centers. Prior to this role, Oakes spent 24 years at Putnam Investments, advancing from Assistant Vice President and Site Manager to Senior Manager of Production Services, where responsibilities included managing multiple operational domains such as Cloud, Network, and Server Operations. Oakes began their career with FLEET FINANCIAL GROUP as Assistant Vice President, Regional Field Services Manager, and held the position of Chief at the Base Network Control Center in the USAF. Oakes holds a Master's degree in Telecommunications and Information Systems from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
