Fred Hutch
Adrienne Shapiro, MD, PhD, serves as an Assistant Professor of Global Health and Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at the University of Washington since July 2015, with additional roles as Acting Assistant Professor and Acting Instructor/Senior Fellow. Since July 2020, Adrienne has also held the position of Assistant Professor and Associate Medical Director at the Seattle Vaccine Trials Unit within Fred Hutch. Previous experience includes residency in Internal Medicine at UCSF and extensive graduate studies in epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, where Adrienne completed both MD and PhD degrees. Academic training is complemented by volunteer work and research in public health and infectious diseases, including clinical trials focused on tuberculosis and HIV.
