Staff Scientist, Supervisor Translational Pathology at Fred Hutch

Kimberly Smythe is a highly experienced Staff Scientist at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, specializing in translational pathology and immunopathology. Since joining the institution in June 2008, Kimberly has led the multiplex immunohistochemistry (mIHC) team, focusing on advanced visualization and analysis of tumor microenvironments using Akoya's technologies and Indica Labs' software. Kimberly has a strong background in experimental histopathology and HIV vaccine research, having contributed significantly to multiplex immunohistochemistry services and historical cancer immunology projects. Kimberly holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and the Science of Food, Nutrition, and Exercise from Virginia Tech.
