Michele Burns

Michele Burns is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in communications, marketing, and philanthropy. Currently serving as the Associate Vice President for Experience & Engagement in Philanthropy at Fred Hutch since July 2017, Michele also held the interim position of Associate Vice President for Communications & Marketing and previously worked as the Executive Director for Donor Communications. Prior to Fred Hutch, Michele was the Senior Director of Communications at Casey Family Programs from November 2014 to July 2017. Michele's career began at PATH, where a range of roles included Director of Content and Director of Communications from 1999 to October 2014. Earlier experience includes consultancy as a Medical Writer and Editor in 1998-1999, a Senior Editor at Harbour Communications from 1996 to 1998, and various publication roles throughout the 1990s. Michele holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington and a BA in Philosophy from New York University.
