Matt Kruse

Matt Kruse is an experienced sustainability and corporate responsibility professional currently serving as the Director of Sustainability at Freddie Mac since May 2023. Prior to this role, Kruse was the Global Head of Social Responsibility at Groupon from June 2015 to January 2023, where the first ESG roadmap was established, including a formal materiality assessment and the creation of an ESG leadership committee. Kruse has also made significant contributions at Allstate Insurance as Manager of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, leading efforts to achieve annual reductions in carbon emissions and energy usage. Earlier experience includes the role of Community Affairs Analyst at OfficeMax, where participation in the Volunteer Program was increased significantly, and the first Corporate Social Responsibility Report was produced. Kruse holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Valparaiso University.
