Annelies Langelaar

Annelies Langelaar is a seasoned professional in media development with over a decade of experience, currently serving as Team Lead Asia and Programme Coordinator for South and Southeast Asia at Free Press Unlimited since March 2014. In these roles, Annelies is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing programs that promote free and independent media, focusing on themes such as gender inclusion, journalist safety, and media accountability. Annelies has also held positions overseeing project implementation in South Asia and Nigeria and managed initiatives for children and youth through the WADADA News for Kids project. Prior experience includes internships at the Netherlands Consulate General in New York and various organizations in communication and project management. Annelies holds a Master of Science in Political Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, along with a Bachelor's degree in Arts and Economics from the Utrecht School of the Arts.
