Joseph Thomas

Joseph Thomas currently serves as the President and CEO of Freedom Bank of Virginia, a community-oriented bank headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, since August 2018. Joseph has extensive experience in the banking sector, having previously held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at Bay Bank, FSB from July 2010 to April 2018 and served on the Board of Directors for several banks, including Old Line Bank, First Atlantic Bank, Middlefield Banking Company, Sunwest Bank, and H Bancorp. Joseph's earlier career includes a role as Managing Director at Wachovia Capital Markets from 1985 to 2005 and as Chief Operating Officer at the Financial Services Volunteer Corps. Joseph holds an MBA in Global Executive from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a BA in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.
