During Mr. Jackson’s 40+ year career, he was one of the founding principals of EuroZinc Mining Corporation and was largely responsible for the acquisition of the Aljustrel and Neves-Corvo zinc and copper mines in Portugal. As President and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Jackson operated Neves-Corvo mine which was producing at approximately 200 million lbs. of copper per annum. In addition to Neves-Corvo under his stewardship, EuroZinc also completed full feasibility and re-engineered the Aljustrel mine which has since then been put back into production.
Prior to EuroZinc, Mr. Jackson held senior exploration manager positions for Amoco Minerals/Cyprus Minerals in Canada, Norway and New Zealand. During his tenure he was directly involved with exploration and development on two major gold deposits which are now producers. Subsequent to his involvement, he was directly involved with the exploration and pre-feasibility of a significant porphyry copper deposit which is also currently in production.
