Karen Hoy is an experienced librarian currently serving as Librarian 2 in the Science & Wellness Department at the Free Library of Philadelphia since March 2020, having previously worked as a Career and Job Search Librarian in the same institution. In this role, Karen provides reference services in various subjects, including science, medicine, technology, transportation, and cooking. Karen's prior experience includes positions as Adult/Teen Librarian at the Queen Memorial Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia and Librarian I at Dallas Public Library. Karen began the library career as a Librarian at New York Public Library and as a Graduate Library Assistant at University of North Texas. Karen holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Northern Illinois University.
