Freddy Bernal

Freddy Bernal is a seasoned metallurgist with extensive experience in the mining industry. Currently serving as Chief Metallurgist at Freeport-McMoRan since August 2014, Freddy previously held the role of Supervisor Metallurgist Concentrator and Mineralogist at Minera Cerro Verde where contributions included the installation of a Material Characterization Laboratory and expertise in process mineralogy. Before this, Freddy worked as a Metallurgist Concentrator at Southern Peru Copper Corporation, performing flotation tests and optimizing operational parameters for copper and molybdenum. Freddy holds a Master of Business Administration from UPC Universidad Privada de Ciencias and a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de San Agustín.
