Walter Paz

Walter Paz is an experienced professional in mechanical maintenance and project management within the mining industry. Currently serving as Sub Director and Gerente de Mantención y Proyectos de Planta at Sierra Gorda SCM since December 2016, Walter oversees the maintenance operations of a concentrator designed for high-capacity processing. In addition to this role, Walter has been the Gerente de Mantenimiento Mecánico at Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. for the Cerro Verde operation since July 2015, managing the maintenance of the world's largest copper concentrator. Walter's extensive background includes positions such as Gerente de Mantenimiento Mecánico at Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A.A. and various superintendence roles at Freeport-McMoRan. Walter holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and has pursued further education in Metallurgy and an MBA.
