Director of Annual Fundraising Operations at Freestore Foodbank

Lindsay Starry, M.A., PMP has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Annual Fundraising Operations at The Freestore Foodbank, a role they started in March 2022. Prior to their current role, Lindsay worked at the Freestore Foodbank in multiple positions starting in 2013. From July 2018 to April 2022, they served as the Corporate & Foundation Relations Manager where they managed relationships with corporate and foundation partners. Before that, from July 2016 to July 2018, Lindsay held the position of Foundation Relations Manager where they focused on cultivating relationships with foundations. Lindsay initially joined the organization as the Grants Officer in October 2013, where they played a pivotal role in growing the grants department and securing funding for various programs and services.

In 2013, Lindsay also worked at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra as an Interim Grants Manager. In this role, they were responsible for writing grant applications, managing grants, and maintaining communication with funders.

Before that, Lindsay gained experience as a Program Intern at Women in Alternative Action in 2012. Lindsay was involved in writing and editing grant proposals and supporting the organization in documenting and streamlining activities related to peacebuilding and Human Rights.

In 2011, Lindsay worked as a Program Coordinator at Brandeis Philosophy and Development Discussion Group. Lindsay'sresponsibilities included organizing group meetings, facilitating discussions, and ensuring active participation.

Prior to that, Lindsay served as a Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant and Program Volunteer at the Centre for Youth and Women Empowerment in 2011. Lindsay organized school workshops and community outreach programs, created program deliverables, and initiated monitoring processes.

In 2009, Lindsay gained experience with event coordination and management as a Conference Worker for the Department of Defense. Lindsay provided logistical support and technical assistance for various group functions.

Lindsay's earlier work experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at Centre College in 2008, and as a Medical Assistant at Samaritan OB/GYN from 2006 to 2008. In their role as a Medical Assistant, they assisted with digitizing medical records, conducted patient assessments, and supported office procedures.

With their extensive background in fundraising, grants management, program coordination, and event management, Lindsay has proven herself to be a versatile and capable professional in various industries.

Lindsay Starry, M.A., PMP, holds a Dual MA in Sustainable International Development and Coexistence and Conflict from Brandeis University, The Heller School for Social Policy and Management. Lindsay completed their degree from 2010 to 2013, focusing on International Development. Prior to that, Lindsay earned their BA in International Relations and French with a minor in History from Centre College, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their educational background, Lindsay obtained their PMP certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2017.
