Tara Young

Tara Young has over 25 years of professional experience in the technology and finance industries. Tara began their career in 1994 as a Programmer/Analyst at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney (starting with Salomon Brothers). Tara then moved to Merrill Lynch in 1997, where they worked as a Team Leader/Project Manager. In 2006, they joined IBM Global Business Services as a Consultant and Project Manager. In 2014, they were hired by Capital One as a Vice President and Senior Project Manager. In 2020, they worked as a Full Stack Engineer at Medical Answering Services LLC and as a Software Engineering Intern at Queen's Webs, where they developed a platform for a 501(c)(3) organization helping ethnic minorities prepare to be foster parents and implemented REST-ful APIs using Node.js, including a newsletter subscription endpoint integrated with Mailchimp. Most recently, they began working as a Software Engineer at FreeWill in 2021.

Tara Young attended Rutgers University from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a BS in Electrical Engineering. From 1996 to 2000, they attended Stevens Institute of Technology, where they earned an MS in Computer Science. Most recently, they attended General Assembly from 2019 to 2020, where they completed a Software Engineering Immersive program.
