Ray Boaz

Ray Boaz is the current Director of Data Science at FreightWaves. Prior to this, they were the Data Science Manager at eSite Analytics from August 2019 to January 2022. Before that, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at the Medical University of South Carolina from July 2014 to June 2019. Ray has also worked as an Algebra Instructor at the Montessori Community School of Charleston from August 2012 to June 2014, and as an Offsite Program Director / Instructor at Brick by Brick from January 2012 to May 2014. Ray's first job was as a Project Engineer at the Manhattan Construction Company from May 2010 to December 2011.

Ray Boaz began their educational career at The Baylor School, a high school in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ray then attended the University of South Carolina, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. After working in the engineering field for a few years, they decided to return to school to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina. In addition, they have also completed a Summer Institute for Statistics in Big Data from the University of Washington.
