Menko Johnson has a diverse work experience in the field of education and technology. Menko started in 1999 as a Marketing Consultant at JPMorgan Chase before transitioning to the education sector. Menko worked as a Technology Specialist at Columbus Public Schools from 2001 to 2004, teaching computer skills to middle school students. Menko then became an Evaluation Specialist at the same school district, assessing program effectiveness and conducting surveys.
Following their tenure at Columbus Public Schools, Menko joined San Jose State as an Instructional Technologist, where they were responsible for instructional systems design, learning space design, and faculty development. Menko also provided consultation for learning space improvements and supported faculty teaching in high-tech classrooms.
Menko's next role was as an Instructional Technologist & Researcher at Stanford University from 2008 to 2010. Menko focused on instructional systems design, learning space design, and faculty development at Wallenberg Hall. Their responsibilities included providing consultation for learning space design and leading a major redesign project to enhance teaching and scholarship opportunities.
In 2010, Menko worked briefly as the Director of Strategic Integration at Tidebreak, Inc. before joining the Fremont Union High School District as the Director of Technology, a position they currently hold.
Menko Johnson earned a Master's in Education (M.Ed.) specializing in Elementary Education and Teaching from The Ohio State University, where they studied from 1997 to 1999. Later, in 1999, they pursued further education at the same institution, completing another M.Ed. in Education. Menko continued their educational journey at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a degree in Psychology, with a focus on Psychology, Sociology, and Statistics. Menko further enhanced their qualifications by pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) in Instructional Technology from San Jose State University, studying from 2005 to 2007.
