Armen Samuel Karamanian, Ph.D. has a diverse work history, starting as an Assistant Manager at the Australian Department of Home Affairs before transitioning to roles such as Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney. Their experience also includes working as a Migration Officer for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, where they promoted diversity initiatives globally. Most recently, Armen has been involved in promoting equity as a Senior Equity Research Analyst at the Santa Clara County Office of Education and later as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Fresno Unified School District. Armen Samuel Karamanian, Ph.D., holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Macquarie University, which they completed from 2002 to 2007. Armen Samuel went on to earn a Master of Arts in International Relations in 2009-2010 and a Master of Research in Ethnic Identity & Heritage Language from 2014 to 2016, both from Macquarie University. In 2016, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International/Global Studies from Macquarie University. Most recently, in 2023-2024, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Leadership from Harvard Extension School.
