Melissa Darnell has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Melissa started at Boston Scientific in 2013 as a Co-op in Manufacturing, where they learned about injection molding, extrusion, and conducted experiments. In 2014, they continued their Co-op experience at Boston Scientific, focusing on Manufacturing Engineering in the Endoscopy department. Their responsibilities included managing production builds and maintaining inventory. Melissa worked as a Calling Specialist at the University of Louisville from 2012 to 2014, where they successfully raised funds and achieved recognition as a top fundraiser. Since 2015, Melissa has been employed at Freudenberg Medical. Melissa started as a Co-op in Product Development and then moved on to become an Associate Process Engineer. Melissa later progressed to the positions of Manufacturing Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer II, where they are currently employed.

Melissa Darnell earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Louisville - J.B. Speed School of Engineering, Bioengineering Department. Melissa attended this university from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, Melissa completed their high school education at Taylor County High School, where they received a Comprehensive Diploma from 2007 to 2011.
