Alex Xu has a diverse and extensive work experience in various managerial roles in different companies. Alex started their career in 2000 as a Sales Manager at fischer (Taicang) fixings Co. Ltd. of fischer Group of Companies. Alex then moved on to become the Sales Director (China) at Alcan Composites Shanghai, where they were responsible for achieving sales targets and implementing sales and marketing plans. In 2006, they joined Berker GmbH & Co. KG as the Managing Director of Berker China, where they focused on achieving sales targets and developing long-term business plans. In 2011, they joined BlueScope Steel as the GM-Probuild at BlueScope buildings China, and later became the General Manager of BlueScope Buildings Emerging Business China. Alex'smost recent role was at Low & Bonar, where they served as the Country Manager China and also worked as the APAC Business Development Director/Regional Director APAC Colbond, overseeing the company's activities and driving organic business growth in the region.

Alex Xu has a Master's Degree in Executive MBA from the University of Aberdeen. Alex also has a degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from Tongji University, which they obtained from 1986 to 1990. Alex is currently enrolled in the Budiness Leadership Program at INSEAD, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Alex also holds a certification in Precast Concrete Construction Supervision from the construction industry development board Singapore, which they obtained in July 1996.
