Jimmieka Mills is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in communications, advocacy, and nonprofit leadership. As co-founder of Equitable Spaces since October 2021, Jimmieka is dedicated to fostering equitable solutions. Concurrently serving as a communications consultant for Lumina Foundation since April 2018, Jimmieka contributes to advancing access to post-secondary education. Additional roles include being a fellow at Friday, an advocate for the Center for Law and Social Policy, a board member of Believe In Students Inc., and a consultant for the Hope Center for College, Community and Justice. Jimmieka founded The Beautiful Struggle Organization in November 2015, focusing on providing essential supports to low-income families. Previously involved with Young Invincibles as a policy fellow and OpenStax as a contributing blogger, Jimmieka has a background in business communications through experience at Pop's Place Restaurant. Jimmieka Mills holds an Associate's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Houston Community College.
