Senior Director Of Community And Culture at Friends Committee on National Legislation

Alicia McBride has extensive work experience in various roles at the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL). Alicia started in 2004 as the Director for Online Communications and later became the Director for Communications. From 2018 to 2020, they served as the Director of Integrated Strategy and Impact, where they focused on improving cross-team strategy development and assessing FCNL's effectiveness. In 2020, they transitioned to the role of Director of Quaker Leadership, responsible for nurturing relationships with Friends across the United States. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Community and Culture, which they started in July 2022. Prior to their time at FCNL, Alicia worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Washington, Seattle from 2003 to 2004.

Alicia McBride has a strong educational background with degrees from both the University of Washington and Carleton College. From 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Master of Science - MS degree in Human Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington. During the same period, they also completed another Master of Science degree, majoring in Technical Communication. Prior to their postgraduate studies, Alicia attended Carleton College from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts - BA degree in English. Overall, Alicia has a diverse academic history focused on fields such as design and engineering, technical communication, and English.
