Susan Smith Bastian has extensive professional experience, currently serving as a Personal Stylist at J Hilburn since March 2014 and as a Librarian and 1st Grade Phonics Teacher at Friends Community School since August 2013. Previous roles include Marketing Consultant at the Cooperative for Union Services and Products, where a successful marketing plan was developed, and Substitute Teacher at The Sidwell Friends School. Additionally, Susan held positions as Editor at the University of Maryland, Greenebaum Cancer Center, and Independent Communications Consultant at the National Institutes of Health, in which strategic communications plans were created. An independent community outreach consultant for AARP, Susan educated the public on healthcare policy issues. Educational credentials include an MBA in marketing from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in economics from Lake Forest College.
