Jacob LaBine is an experienced professional in live sound engineering, production, and marketing within the music industry. Currently serving as a Live Sound Engineer at WSUM 91.7 FM Madison since February 2018, Jacob is responsible for mic'ing live performances, managing studio levels, mixing and mastering recordings, and communicating directly with artists. In addition, Jacob holds the position of Talent Buyer for the Wisconsin Union Directorate Music Committee, focusing on artist outreach, performance booking, and negotiation. Jacob also contributes as a Content Writer for MusicNotez, where engagement with independent artists and promotion of the online magazine occurs. Jacob's earlier experience includes working as an Inclusion Facilitator for United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Dane County, providing support and care for children with disabilities. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a degree in Digital Studies, Communication and Media Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

WSUM is the student-run freeform radio station at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With over 200 active members, WSUM is one of the country’s largest college radio stations and serves more than 197,000 listeners per year through 24/7/365 programming on its FM signal and internet radio streams. The station’s mission is to act in a service and outreach capacity to the people of Madison, to provide an educational environment for students of UW-Madison, and to be an alternative source of information and entertainment to our campus and community.
