Friends of the Chicago River
Tessa Murray is an experienced professional in environmental policy and sustainability, currently serving as Policy Manager at Friends of the Chicago River since October 2023. Previously, Tessa worked as a Sustainability Coordinator for the Village of Northbrook from May 2021 to October 2023 and as a Greenest Region Corps Member at the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus from October 2020 to May 2021. Initial experience includes roles as a Crew Member with the Student Conservation Association and a Research Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Tessa's background also includes consulting on sustainable events and waste education at McGill University, as well as ecological restoration technician roles at V3 Companies. Tessa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from McGill University and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Public Administration with a focus on Local Government at Northern Illinois University.
