Madison Gaffney currently serves as the Volunteer Manager and Community Engagement Manager at Friends of the Family since February 2023, focusing on building community relationships, engaging volunteers, and providing outreach opportunities. Friends of the Family (FOF) is a nonprofit agency serving Northeast and Northcentral Iowa. Friends of the Family's mission is to provides safe shelter, confidential services, and housing assistance to individuals in crisis due to domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and homelessness. Our services cover 27 counties: Allamakee - Benton - Black Hawk - Bremer - Buchanan - Butler - Cerro Gordo - Chickasaw - Clayton - Delaware - Dubuque - Fayette - Floyd - Franklin - Grundy - Hamilton - Hancock - Howard - Jones - Kossuth - Linn - Mitchell - Tama - Winnebago - Winneshiek - Worth - Wright. Our vision is that EVERYONE HAS A HOME. Our agency employs 55 full and part-time staff and hosts approximately 100 volunteers and interns annually. Since we serve 27 counties across Northeast and Northcentral Iowa, and provide assistance to hundreds of families and individuals, we are a grant funded agency that relies heavily on volunteers and donors to help us extend our reach. Any contributions, whether it be monetary, non-monetary, or even helping us get the word out about families'​ needs, make a huge difference in the amount of people we are able to reach with our services.
