Ignacio Cobos Rey

Ignacio Cobos Rey has a diverse range of work experience in data-related roles. In 2010, they started as a Team Lead Data Warehouse at BBVA, where they managed a team and created a comprehensive dashboard for departmental control. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a BI Project Manager and utilized their expertise in Teradata to analyze user queries and provide best practices and recommendations.

In 2012, Cobos Rey became an Expert Consultant in Teradata, specializing in query analysis and performance optimization. Ignacio successfully implemented vertical partitioning, improving performance by 98%.

In 2013, they conducted a workshop as an External Microstrategy Trainer for Hero España, S.A., teaching the basics of MicroStrategy reporting and functional analysis.

From 2014 to 2016, Cobos Rey served as a Senior BI Developer and Data Architect at Goodgame Studios, where they established a solid business reporting and data visualization environment. Ignacio also implemented a Data Dictionary and data modeling to integrate internal and external data sources.

At MicroStrategy, they worked as an Instructor from 2014 to 2014, teaching others about MicroStrategy.

From 2016 to 2020, they were a Senior Data Architect and MicroStrategy Administrator at New Work SE, responsible for developing informational solutions, supporting end users, and overseeing the data model and data discovery.

Next, they served as a TL Data Engineering at LOTTO24 AG from 2020 to 2021, participating in the Unity project to merge systems and fostering Data Governance/Data Architecture initiatives.

In 2021, Cobos Rey joined zahneins as a Lead Data Engineer, leading a team to build the entire data infrastructure of the company, including ingestion, ETL, and informational solutions.

Moving to AMORELIE in 2022, they worked as the Head of Data, and then transitioned to Friendsurance in the same role.

Ignacio Cobos Rey began their education at the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science from 1994 to 2000. After a gap in their education, they later attended the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D. from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a degree in Art History.

Alongside their formal education, Ignacio Cobos Rey has acquired several additional certifications. Ignacio obtained the "Keeping up with the Javascripts: ES6" certification from Pirple in January 2021. In December 2018, they earned the "MicroStrategy Certified Master Analyst (MCMA)" certification, the "MicroStrategy Certified Master Developer (MCMD)" certification in October 2018, and the "MicroStrategy Certified Master Administrator (MCMAD)" certification in August 2018, all from MicroStrategy. In June 2018, they obtained the "Python 3" certification from SoloLearn. Prior to their degree in Art History, they worked as an online tutor through INLEA and Wärks Contents. Ignacio also holds the "Certified Pomodoro Master" certification from the Pomodoro Technique, attained in 2012. Earlier in their career, they received the "Capacity Management Forecasting Service" certification from Teradata in May 2011, the "Project Planning and Management" certification from IT Deusto in June 2006, and the "Quality Control ISO 9000 Certification" from Aventum in January 2003. Moreover, they became a "Certified PMP" by PMI in July 2013.
