Steve Serota

As the vice president of Laboratory Services for Froedtert & MCW health network, Steve provides leadership to enable the growth of the health network’s Laboratory Services.

Prior to being promoted to his current role, Steve served in the role of president (and previously, chief operating officer), for Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories, and Chief Laboratory Officer for Froedtert Health – where he oversaw all laboratory operations for their enterprise. During his tenure, he led the significant growth of their external lab outreach services, including regional and national level expansion, a mission realignment focused on optimizing access to patient-centric, high-quality, innovative medical laboratory testing, and a full system laboratory integration. In addition, he and his team were instrumental in managing COVID-19 testing, contributing to their health system’s success through the pandemic. Additionally, Steve serves as the chief executive of the National Lab Network, LLC – a collaboration of other academic health system laboratories that partner together to expand specialty testing for clients across the country.

Prior to joining Froedtert Health, Steve served as director of Laboratory Services, Surgical Services, and Specialty Pharmacy for Northwestern Healthcare in Chicago. He is a graduate of Rush University with Masters in health system management.
