Stephen Heal has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Stephen began their career in 1987 as a Risk management and fixed income trader at JP Morgan before transitioning to a Principal role at The Boston Consulting Group in 1996. From 2002 to 2004, they served as an Advisory Board Member at Cambridge MIT Institute. Stephen then joined Tesco plc in 2003 as a Director of Business Development. Subsequently, they worked at The University of Manchester as a Visiting Fellow at the Sustainable Consumption Institute. In 2009, they held the position of Managing Director at Hackwood Consulting Ltd and Competition Director, Retail Strategy at Lloyds Banking Group. Stephen continued their tenure at Lloyds Banking Group until 2011, establishing a new team responsible for competition policy and coordinating with regulatory bodies. Recently, in 2021, they became a Member of the President's Cabinet at UArctic (University of the Arctic).
Stephen Heal obtained their education from two prestigious institutions. From 1984 to 1987, they attended the University of Cambridge, where they earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Natural Sciences with a focus on Biochemistry. Later, in 1995 and 1996, Stephen pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business and Strategy from INSEAD.
