Tom Cooper has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Tom began their career in 1981 as a Software Principal Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation, where they played a significant role in designing and developing expert systems. Tom later became the Technical Director, providing technical oversight and mentoring engineers.
In 1996, Tom joined ViewLogic, Inc. as a Technical Consultant, before moving on to NobleNet, Inc. in 1998. At NobleNet, they worked as a Software Architect, contributing to the development of a cross-platform middleware product. NobleNet was later acquired by Rogue Wave Software, where Tom continued to work as a Software Architect until 2002.
Tom then joined Workscape, an ADP Company, as the Chief Software Architect in 2002, and remained in this role until 2010. During their time at ADP, they focused on fostering innovation and building a global development community.
In 2010, Tom transitioned to ADP as the Chief Architect for Enterprise Solutions. In this position, they authored six patent applications and played a key role in representing the developer experience in corporate initiatives. Tom remained with ADP until 2016.
Since 2016, Tom has been working at Frontline Education, initially as the Chief Architect and later as the CTO until 2019.
Tom Cooper has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Applied Math/Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. Tom also holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
