Michael Spena, Jr., PE has over 20 years of experience in engineering management and design. Michael started their career in 1997 at Electric Boat, where they worked as a Senior Engineer, focusing on the design and analysis of submarine structures. Michael then joined Westinghouse Electric Company in 2005, initially as a Senior Engineer and later as an Engineering Manager. In this role, they led a team of civil and mechanical engineers and was responsible for design changes to nuclear power plants. Michael also excelled in exceeding group salability and productivity goals.

In 2014, Michael joined Forefront Engineering & Design, Inc. as an Engineering Manager, working on optimizing designs to increase productivity and reduce manufacturing costs. In 2016, they moved on to Siemens, where they served as an Engineering Manager for electrical and mechanical hardware teams, as well as the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) team. Michael'swork at Siemens focused on developing carborne cab signaling systems for rail systems.

Since 2018, Michael has been with FS-Elliott, initially as an Engineering Manager and currently as the Director of Engineering. At FS-Elliott, they are responsible for the Sustaining Engineering, New Product Development Engineering, and Project Engineering groups, overseeing the design and manufacture of centrifugal compressors.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in design and analysis, utilizing various techniques ranging from standard calculations to complex finite element analyses. Michael has also shown strong leadership skills and a track record of achieving goals and exceeding expectations.

Michael Spena, Jr., PE holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they obtained from Rensselaer at Work during the period of 1998-2001. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University between 1993 to 1997. Michael pursued their undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University's College of Engineering during the same period.
