James Steel

James Steel is an investment associate at Fuel Ventures, a leading investment fund that focuses on technology companies with exceptional growth potential. James provides the mentorship, experience and investment required to drive companies to success.

Previously, James was a business development manager at MaiWai, a tenant engagement app focused on transforming workplaces into vibrant communities. James worked with commercial landlords and employers to improve their workplace experience for employees, as a better functioning workplace delivers higher employee satisfaction and therefore higher tenant satisfaction.

Before that, James was a digital marketing intern at Wunderman and a ski instructor at BASI. James also has experience as a production assistant, having worked at Tiger Aspect for two months.

James Steel attended the University of Leeds from 2016-2019, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. While at Leeds, James took a variety of courses in economics, politics, philosophy, and statistics, including modules on the politics of aid, comparative politics, and moral philosophy. Prior to their time at Leeds, James attended Wellington College from 2010-2015.
