Alexandra Powell Pierce

Alexandra Powell Pierce, PhD, is a Scientist II at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, specializing in downstream process development since June 2022. Prior to this role, Alexandra served as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Ph.D. Student at Texas A&M Health Science Center from June 2018 to August 2023, focusing on the pathogenesis of Borrelia species related to Lyme disease. Additional experience includes research assistant roles in evolutionary genetics and molecular microbiology at Texas A&M University between September 2016 and May 2018, and as a language teacher at Crossing Borders Group, LLC, from December 2014 to August 2016. Earlier medical experience includes an internship in internal medicine at Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia in 2013. Alexandra holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from Texas A&M Health Science Center and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University.
