Gisila R. Guzman

Gisila R. Guzman, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and healthcare industries. Gisila R. is currently serving as the Head of Quality Control at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies since 2022.

Prior to that, Dr. Guzman worked at Atara Biotherapeutics as the Senior Director Quality Control from 2021 to 2022. In this role, they led QC Analytical Laboratories and contributed to the regulatory submission of allogeneic products in the EU.

From 2008 to 2021, Dr. Guzman held various roles at Amgen. Gisila R. served as the Executive Director of Technology Strategy and Innovation from 2020 to 2021, where they were responsible for advancing intelligent automation strategy across multiple business functions. Gisila R. also served as the Director of Project Management from 2018 to 2020, establishing a sustainable automation strategy and process for the company.

Before that, Dr. Guzman served as the Director of Global Operations from 2013 to 2018 and the Director of Quality Control & Product Quality from 2008 to 2013 at Amgen.

Dr. Guzman began their career at Amgen in 2003 as a Quality Control Specialist, eventually progressing to the role of Senior Manager before 2008.

Overall, Dr. Guzman's work experience spans various managerial and leadership positions in quality control, project management, and technology strategy and innovation within the biotechnology and healthcare sectors.

Gisila R. Guzman, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, from 1994 to 1998. Gisila R. then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biology at the same institution from 1998 to 2003.
