Kiranmayee Bakshy

Kiranmayee Bakshy has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and computational biology. Kiranmayee started their career as a PhD Scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from October 2005 to August 2010. After completing their PhD, they joined Johns Hopkins University as a Volunteer Research Assistant from June 2014 to January 2016, where they worked on identifying rare genetic variants associated with QT-interval alterations among a selected cohort. Kiranmayee utilized various bioinformatics tools and R programming for data analysis.

In 2018, they joined the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) as a Computational Biologist, where they worked until December 2021. During their time at USDA ARS, Kiranmayee gained expertise in computational biology and contributed to research projects.

Since December 2021, Kiranmayee has been working as a Sr. Data Scientist at FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics. Their role involves utilizing their skills in data science to drive insights and support decision-making processes.

Kiranmayee first attended Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam from 1999 to 2003, where they pursued a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree. Kiranmayee then moved on to the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S) degree in Biotechnology from 2004 to 2005. Kiranmayee continued their studies at the same institution and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biotechnology from 2005 to 2010.

In 2014, they furthered their education by pursuing a Post Masters Certificate in Sequencing and Genomic analysis at The Johns Hopkins University, which they completed in 2015. Additionally, Kiranmayee has obtained certifications in Statistics for Genomic Data Science from Coursera Verified Certificates in October 2015, and Design of Experiments and Advanced Design of Experiment from MiC Quality, though the specific dates of these certifications are not provided.
