Matthew Roberts is currently a Partner and the Head of Fulcrum Alternative Solutions at Fulcrum Asset Management. In this role, they lead a team that focuses on solving investment challenges in alternative asset classes for pension schemes, endowments & foundations, and wealth managers. Matthew also serves as the Chair of Fulcrum's Responsible Investment Committee.
Prior to their current position, Matthew worked at Willis Towers Watson as a Portfolio Manager in the Delegated Investment Services team. Matthew was responsible for making investment decisions on delegated and fiduciary pension fund portfolios and managed the Towers Watson Partners Fund, aiming to deliver risk-adjusted returns through investments with third-party fund managers across all asset classes. Matthew also served as Head of Multi Strategy Hedge Fund research and was involved in researching and developing alternative beta strategies.
Matthew started their career as an Intern at Morgan Stanley in 2004.
Matthew Roberts completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics and Finance from the University of Bristol, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, they attended Robert Smyth from 1998 to 2002, but no degree or field of study information was provided for this period. In terms of additional certifications, Matthew obtained their CFA Charterholder designation from the CFA Institute in September 2009 and a Certificate in ESG Investing from the same institution in April 2022.
