Renato Losio

Renato Losio has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Renato has extensive expertise in AWS technologies, with a focus on cost optimization, data storage, and relational databases. Renato has worked as a Cloud Expert and Speaker at cloudiamo.com since 2014 and is recognized as an AWS Data Hero and an InfoQ editor. Prior to that, they served as a Principal Cloud Architect and Senior Software/System Architect at Funambol, where they designed and managed highly-available distributed systems in the AWS cloud. Renato also contributed to the architecture directions of the product and optimized scaling and performance for Funambol's white-label cloud solution. Renato has also worked as a Staff Editor and Cloud Editor at InfoQ and as a Cloud Specialist at Black Manta Capital Partners. Additionally, they have served as a Technical Reviewer for Packt and worked as a Data Expert and Developer at RaceBase World. Earlier in their career, Renato held freelance writing positions for Class Editori, HACHETTE RUSCONI, and Gente Viaggi. Renato began their career as a Software Engineer at Elsevier and an Analyst Programmer at CSC - Computer Sciences Corporation.

Renato Losio completed their education with a Master's Degree in Computing Science from Birkbeck, University of London in 2003-2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Laurea in Fisica (Master's Degree in Physics) from Università degli Studi di Padova from 1993-1999. During their time at Università degli Studi di Padova, they participated in the Erasmus Exchange Program at Imperial College London for Physics in 1997-1998. In terms of additional certifications, Renato obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services in September 2022. Renato also holds various other AWS certifications including AWS Certified Database - Specialty (March 2020), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (June 2013), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (May 2015), AWS Certified Developer - Associate (August 2016), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (March 2018), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (August 2016), and AWS Certified Security - Specialty (February 2018). Additionally, Renato obtained the telc Português B1 certification from telc GmbH - The European Language Certificates in March 2020 and the Zertifikat Deutsch / telc Deutsch B1 certification in April 2016.
